2)KANPUR CENTRAL (UTTAR PRADESH)
3)NEW DELHI (DELHI)
4)RAJENDRA NAGAR PATNA(BIHAR)
5) MUMBAI CENTRAL (MAHARASHTRA)
NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT THESE STATIONS IN SOME DETAIL !!!
1) HOWRAH JUNCT1ION.
This railway station is located in West Bengal state of India and consists of 23 platforms. Out of which 16 platforms are located in the old complex also called 'Terminal 1' and rest of 7 platforms are located in Terminal 2. When it comes to the frequency of arrival and departure of trains this station tops our list as in every 2 minute a train is either departing or arriving in this station. The station code of Howrah Junction is HWH. Also, India's first Rajdhani Express ran from New Delhi Railway Station to Howrah named as New Delhi-Howrah Rajdhani Express .Around 500 trains halt and originate here in one single day !! The famous Howrah Bridge connects this station to rest of India .This railway station is operated by the Eastern Railway zone. Also, this station is the biggest railway station of India.
2)KANPUR CENTRAL .
This railway station is one of the oldest railway station of India and has station code -CNB. In British era this railway station was called 'CAWNPUR' by Englishmen due to which it got it's code as CNB !! Also, one of the fastest trains of India - NEW DELHI- KANPUR SHATABDI originates from this station !!! This station has 9 active platforms and comes under the Allahabad( now Prayagraj )Division. There was another railway station known as Kanpur Junction in 1859's , but it was closed after the opening of this Kanpur central. Daily on an average there are 470 trains originating and departing this railway station !!! This railway station comes under the North Central Railway zone.
3) NEW DELHI .
This station is my favourite one because I have been to this railway station a lot !!!! This station has 16 active platforms and has two main gates which are known as Ajmeri Gate side and another one is Paharganj side. The daily passenger footfall of this railway station is approximately 4.5 lakh and over 400 trains originate and terminate here daily !!! This railway station was opoened for public in 1925's end. This station is now equipped with world class facilities and may be said 'cleaner' then other railway stations in Delhi !! This station has code - NDLS and is under Northern Railway Zone.
4)RAJENDRA NAGAR PATNA.
This railway station is located in the Indian state of Bihar and has a station code of PNBE. 'BE' is joint in the code because it falls in the Bankipore District of Bihar. There are 10 platforms in this railway station and has a daily passenger footfall of around 3lakh !!! This station was opened in the year 1862. However, there are some security issue in and around this railway station like pickpocketing etc.
5)MUMBAI CENTRAL.
Last but not the least, this railway station was known as Bombay Central so it has a code- BCT ! there are 9 platforms ( 5 for mainline trains and 4 for local trains ) in this railway station and was opened for public in 1930's December. Daily footfall is around 2.5-2 lakh and around 300 trains ( including local ones !!) originate and terminate here.
SO THIS WAS ALL ROM TODAY'S POST AND I WILL BE BACK WITH ANOTHER TOPIC UNTIL THEN GOODBYE AND STAY HOME STAY SAFE !!!!
The Howrah bridge(Rabindra setu) does not connect the Howrah station with the rest of India, but only connects the station with the city of Kolkata and a narrow strip of land between the Ganga and Bangladesh border.
